Our Home
Acacia House is an established nursing home with a long and well earned reputation for providing excellent care in homely and comfortable surroundings.
Set slightly back off the Portsmouth Road opposite Merchistoun Hall, Acacia House is newly renovated and has 24 single bedrooms. Half of our rooms have en-suite facilities including some with wet rooms/showers. There is also a separate accessible wet room and a newly fitted bathroom with a specialist bath.
Our lounge and separate dining area both lead into the conservatory which looks out over all areas of the large rear garden.
The garden is used as often as weather permits for games and activities. We often take morning coffee or afternoon tea on the patio or under the shade of our large trees.
Car parking is at the front of the property, at the end of our long driveway.
Our Team
The Matron, Amanda Harding, has the day to day responsibility for the running of the home. Amanda is a Registered General Nurse and is registered with the Care Quality Commission as the Manager of Acacia House.
Amanda is supported by a team of skilled nurses and care staff who have an on-going programme of training and development which enables them to plan and deliver the appropriate care to meet the individual needs of our residents.
The home has excellent cleaning, laundry, maintenance and gardening ancillary staff who ensure the home is always well presented and provides a safe and comfortable environment.
Our chefs know good food makes happy people. So we ensure that each resident’s dietary preferences and specific nutritional needs are catered for, with home prepared and home cooked meals served throughout the day to the highest standard.
Please feel free to visit Acacia House at any time or telephone to make an appointment to meet Amanda and her team for a guided tour and discussion about Acacia House.
